Great gift idea for mobile lawyer

Even those of us with great memories sometimes forget to bring the AC power adapter with us when we head out of the office with our notebook PCs.  If the battery is fully charged, you will be fine for 2 to 4 hours, but what if it isn't?

Treat yourself to an extra power adapter.  The Targus Mobile 70 power adapter works with almost any notebook PC, and it is lighter and more compact than many original equipment power adapters.  It is currently on sale at JR.com for only $39.99.

Cheap Palm Smart Phone for Sprint Subscribers

The various Palm Treo models are great productivity boosters for lawyers.  They are not only decent cell phones, but their advanced PDA features let you sync with your practice management or time/billing software to carry your important calendar, contact, and document information with your anywhere.  Of course, they also offer mobile email access.  But the top-of-the-line Treo phones like the 755p cost several hundred dollars.

You can get most of the benefits of a Palm OS smart phone with the Palm Centro.  This stylish and scaled-down smart phone is offered by Sprint for $99 after a $100 mail-in rebate.  This price requires a two-year service plan with data.

Desktop or home office laser printer is high on style, low in stature

In a law office, you don't want to skimp on performance to save space when it comes to your primary laser printer.  But if you want a secondary printer for your desktop or for your home office, size is a valid consideration.

Samsung has a new laser printer that is less than 5 inches tall.  The ML-1630 features a slick piano black finish, decent 16 ppm speed, good output, and nearly silent operation.  The downside is that this printer doesn't print envelopes.  List price is $199.95.
